Get Enough Rest
Ok, this may sound like a silly safety resolution — but we mean it! Prioritize your sleep this year, and make sure you are well rested before you get behind the wheel. Driving while drowsy can be as dangerous and driving while intoxicated. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, drowsy driving is a factor in more than 100,000 crashes, resulting in 1,550 deaths and 40,000 injuries annually. Getting a good night’s rest on a regular basis is the only way to truly protect against drowsy driving — so aim for the expert recommended seven to height hours per night. Zzzzzzz!
